1902 by Henry S. Bryan, Herman W. Cable, John Dwan, William A.
McGonagle, and Dr. J. Danley Budd. Their initial plan was to
sell corundum to manufacturers in the Eastern United
States.
3M's 2007 revenues
were 24.5 billion dollars. The company has over
76,000 employees in 60 countries and is headquartered in
Maplewood, Minnesota.
The copmany joined the Dow
Jones Industrial Average on August 9, 1976 when it was known as
Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing. They are currently also a
member of the Dow Jones Composite, S&P 100, S&P 500,
and S&P 1500 Super Comp. The stock symbol is
MMM.
